Lim Tze Peng’s enormous painting of the Sungei Road Thieves’ Market is epitome of its reputation as one of the biggest and oldest flea market in Singapore. He captures the scene of the market at its busiest, with a multitude of peddlers under large umbrellas selling their products. The brown hues highlight the dusk hours when the market is at peak capacity, and the bold paint strokes exudes lively energy of the hustle and bustle of the busy market.
